Root barrier membrane is a smooth, high quality, high density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane produced from specially formulated, virgin polyethylene resin. This polyethylene resin is designed specifically for flexible geomembrane applications. It contains approximately 97.5% polyethylene, 2.5% carbon black and trace amounts of antioxidants and heat stabilizers, no other additives, fillers or extenders are used. 80Mil HDPE Liner has outstanding chemical resistance, mechanical properties, environmental stress crack resistance, dimensional stability and thermal aging characteristics. Root barrier membrane has excellent resistance to UV radiation and is suitable for garden root protection. BPM root barrier membrane specification meets or exceeds GRI GM13 which is used as a root barrier to stop bamboo roots and other invasive plant roots.

HDPE root barrier membrane is extremely suited for the protection of cables, ducts and sewage pipes against plant roots. Bamboo root barrier will block the roots, but will not guide the growth direction of the roots. A root guidance panel containing upstanding ribs will block and guide the roots downwards. A root barrier screen should be applied linearly and is the ideal solution for deflecting roots for instance between a cycle path and a green space. HDPE root barrier membrane has the following performance.
