The dam project is often created by artificial excavation. It is a ground or semi-ground channel. The water diversion method is self-flowing water. The embankment is loose and permeable. Most of the anti-seepage dam engineering uses such non-degradable materials as plastic film, woven bag, geotextile, non-woven fabric, polystyrene board, which are installed by hand. It will cause damage to the downstream or in the field when the water flow is rushed. So plastic dam linings made by HDPE are the ideal   materials as dam bottom and side lining system. When the dam expansion and reconstruction project is carried out, the common synthetic materials used in the existing projects are removed and not recycled to prevent the the water from polluted.

           







Plastic dam linings can be used on the ground or on flat slopes and in places where we often need to prevent leakage, such as pools, gates, roofs, etc. In recent years, geomembrane technology has been well applied. For example, the dam built by Spain in 1984 is the earliest dam built in the world with geomembrane as anti seepage lining system. The overall height of the dam is 97 meters. The dam slope is a 1:13 rockfill slope. The rockfill dam The upstream is a stone block that can effectively prevent the damage of the dam by the upstream sediment. The surface is smoothed with simple cement, and then the HDPE dam liners is spread on it. This is what we call geotechnical anti-seepage project. In the lower part of the gauge, the thickness of the HDPE dam liners are as high as 2 mm, which is double that of the upper part. Then, the plastic dam linings is covered with asphalt on the film, the steel mesh is laid on the asphalt, and finally the cement concrete is 16 cm thick. Until now, the rules have been working very well. It can be seen that the geomembrane technology has played an important role in improving the quality of water conservancy projects.
